What Worry Does to Your Life
This is a little Law of Attraction “secret” that came to me today after a very powerful chat I had with someone yesterday. It all has to do with worry energy, and I know it will have a very big impact on your ability to utilize the Law of Attraction in life to become an Inspired Money Maker, or anything else you desire.
Worrying is something that we all do from time to time. Some of us worry all the time. There have been many sayings about worrying over the years, but one of my favorites has been “Worrying is like rocking in a rocking chair. It keeps you busy, but accomplishes nothing.”
That saying has stuck with me for quite a while now and worrying is not something I have been putting a lot of energy towards for quite some time now. However, when life does get a bit stressful and things aren’t going exactly according to our best laid plans, worrying does creep in even for someone like me even though I’m normally so positive.
So far, I’ve always thought about worry energy as fruitless and unproductive, but today something really profound dawned on me which changed my thinking about it all together.
To truly illustrate my point I would like you to participate in a short experiment. It’s not hard to do. Grab a piece of paper or open up a word processor or notepad while you’re reading this. Go ahead and do that now.
Ok, now I want you to write down at least two or three, but preferably 5-10 endings to this sentence.
“I am worried that _________________________________”.
So, for example, you list may be something like:
“I am worried that my business might not make any money.”
“I am worried that my health will deteriorate if I don’t begin exercising.”
“I am worried that nobody will like my products and services.”
Etc.
Do you have your list now?
Ok, now, I want you to go into your list and make a couple of changes. Take the list and now re-write each item changing the sentence to start with “I now intend that” instead of “I am worried that”. So, my example sentences are now:
“I now intend that my business might not make any money.”
“I now intend that my health will deteriorate if I don’t begin exercising.”
“I now intend that nobody will like my products and services.”
Now read your newly formed sentences. They probably sound pretty bleak right? Who in their right mind would set an intention for any of those things to happen, right? Like, who would intend for their health to deteriorate?
Well, here’s the catch. Whenever you WORRY about something, you are inadvertently INTENDING for that to happen because the Law of Attraction states that whatever it is that we focus on is what we will manifest. Essentially, we attract whatever we worry about.
So what’s the solution? Ok, the solution is to re-write your sentences and intend the opposite. So for example:
“I now intend that my business might not make any money.”
Becomes
“I now intend that my business will make lots of money.”
And
“I now intend that my health will deteriorate if I don’t begin exercising.”
Becomes
“I now intend that my health will increase as I begin exercising.”
Etc.
Notice how the energy feels so much different now? You need to start thinking in these terms. Start re-framing everything you think about in the positive. Realize that “worry” energy just attracts exactly what it is you are worried about.
Now, you might say that by worrying about something it helps us to take action to change it. Like for example you may say that when you “Worry that my health will deteriorate if I don’t begin exercising.” You do the worrying in order to try to get yourself to exercise so that your health doesn’t deteriorate. However, that is just an illusion. Worry energy is not an empowering energy. It doesn’t drive us to action, it just attracts more worry and that attracts that which we worry about.
Instead, if you re-frame it into the positive version of the same thing and say to yourself “I now intend that my health will increase as I begin exercising.”, doesn’t that also make you want to begin exercising? In fact, doesn’t it seem even more empowering to think this way than to worry about the negative side of things even if you don’t believe in Law of Attraction?
I challenge you to take your journal tonight and go through and write down as many worries as you currently have running through your head on a regular basis. Then, re-write them in the “I now intend that” format and see if that is what you would like to manifest in your life? Then, re-frame all of the statements into opposite, positive, empowering statements and use those to replace your worry thoughts.
Don’t worry that your kids might not do well in school, instead intend that your kids will excel. Don’t worry that you might never make money doing what you love, instead intend that you will make money doing what you love.
There aren’t a lot of things that I typically worry about in my life, but there are a few that pop up from time to time, and now that I’ve made this realization I now know why they keep popping up. I’ve obviously been intending and manifesting them into existence without realizing it.
I’m going to use this little distinction to rid myself of any worries I have as I realize now that worry is not just wasted energy, it’s in fact an energy that manifests exactly what we don’t want.

Paul,
There are two types of worrying. And before I forget, even the Rocking chair soothes the anxiety for awhile. But Worrying about something you have NO control over is simply draining your reserves and as you implied, attracting the undesirable. On the other hand, when a quarterback hears footsteps outside of the pocket, it encourages him to throw, slide or prepare to get mangled. This is a good form of worrying. We call this proactive strategy.
We all have 365 days (here in the states) to worry about about filing our taxes on April 15th. Most people this time of the year shiver at the thought of April 15th but nothing compared to 320 days from now. The key to worriesome thoughts is being proactive. If you’re doing all that you can do (and that’s the key, you can only control yourself) then you should either rest assured that your business will make money, or reassess the situation.
Doing is the answer to Worrying.
Worrying about if you should be doing more is not a bad thing. As long as it leads you to understand that you’re doing all you can do at this time.
