Blog Income Report - June 2008
Blog Income Report time again. I must say that this month just blew by for some reason. It seems like I was just writing up the May Income Report.
This month definitely brought about a lot of changes to InspiredMoneyMaker.com. On June 5th I finally launched my New Blog Design with my new mascot and custom theme by Unique Blog Designs. Getting that installed, setup, configured and tweaked took quite a while but I’m glad that part is now all setup and running smoothly.
I didn’t get a chance to do a lot of tweaking of AdSense or Kontera with my new theme and looking at my income and stats for the month from the two sources it shows. Last month’s StumbleUpon Bomb continued to deliver an inflow of new traffic for the first part of June as well and now things have returned back to a more normal pace.
RSS Subscribers
As always one of the biggest metrics I keep an eye on is the RSS subscriber count. This month there was a bit of weird pattern with the counter. Take a look and see if you can figure out what happened:

See how the count jumps to around 300 subscribers and then stays there even dipping a bit up until about half way through the month? What happened is when I installed the new theme, I didn’t realize that the RSS settings were left to point to the default Wordpress Feed instead of my Feedburner feed, so for a while there people who were subscribing to my RSS feed were being fed directly from Wordpress instead of through Feedburner.
It’s not really a big deal because they still get my feed either way, but the side-effect is that they weren’t being counted in the Feedburner chiclet. By the time I realized that the numbers weren’t going up and something must be going on I figured that there must have been a whole bunch of people signed up directly to my Wordpress Feed.
Luckily I was able to find a really cool plugin called FD Feedburner Plugin which automatically re-directs all your Wordpress RSS feed subscribers directly to your Feedburner feed. This is a super useful plugin especially for those who don’t get Feedburner setup right away on their blogs and have some subscribers still pulling off their Wordpress feed.
As you can see, as soon as the feed subscribers began pulling off of Feedburner and Feedburner started counting them, the readership count jumped really quickly, finishing off the month at 400 RSS Subscribers. I am really happy with the growth of my subscriber base, considering that less than 90 days ago I only had about 80 subscribers. Thanks for the support guys and gals!
Blog Income Report
Ok, now on the actualy income report.
My total income earned from my Blog for the month of June 2008 is $1,528.46.
This month I also added a new income source line for my Blog which is Blog Coaching. This isn’t a direct income stream from the Blog itself, meaning that it isn’t a passive income stream but I decided to count and report all of my income streams relating to InspiredMoneyMaker.com so that you guys can easily see the opportunities running a Blog can bring.
I am now being approached by people who would like me to mentor/coach them on how to make money online by Blogging, so I want to report those numbers to you guys in case you’re interested. The reason I still consider it “Income From My Blog” is because if I didn’t have my Blog up and running and I wasn’t making money from my Blog, there’s no way I would have clients paying me to teach them how to make money Blogging.
For anyone that doesn’t want to consider “coaching” as Blog income for your own comparison reasons, just remove the amount from my total figure. I provide all the breakdowns below.
Here’s a breakdown of how the numbers tallied up:
- Direct Ad Sales: $180.00
- Affiliate Commissions: $668.15
- Blog Coaching: $600.00
- AdSense: $25.44
- Text Link Ads: $52.49
- Kontera: $2.38
- eBook Sales: $0.00
- ReviewMe: $0.00
Including the coaching income, my June income ($1,528.46) grew by just over 114% compared to May ($712.30). Hmmm… any of you read my Free eBook? Take a look at the graph on page 25. Notice a pattern? Might be time to re-read Chapter 6 again. Something to think about.
What’s Coming Soon
I am definitely intrigued by helping others to leverage the power of the Internet to make money by doing what they love. That’s why I decided to do some coaching. If anyone is interested, I may be willing to take on a few more students for one-on-one work. I may only be offering this for a short period of time so if anyone’s interested send me an email.
On a more larger scale I’ve been working non-stop for the last few days learning everything I possibly can about membership sites as I’m really excited to work on the membership site for Lightworkers I mentioned in my last post. There’s definitely a lot to learn when it comes to setting up a membership site. The learning curve reminds me of when I first started Blogging and playing around with Wordpress over two years ago.
I’m also going to be unveiling a new Blog Contest halfway through this month. I think you guys will be really excited to see what I’ve got in store for you.

Really nice figures you are getting there Paul.
If you could predict how much you will be earning next month, what would you say?
@IronBlogger: When I began releasing my income numbers, I made the decision not to announce my goal/prediction. The reason why is because I prefer not to have anyone out there with counter-intentions to mine.
Think of it this way. If on April 1st I said “Hey guys, I just made $7 last month, my goal is to be making over $1,500/m by June” what would people have thought?
My guess is that a lot of people would have said “There’s no way he’ll make $1,500.”
I prefer not to have these negative beliefs floating out there in the superconscious. I’d rather keep them to myself for now and then just report what I’ve done.
However, if you read my eBook you’ll know exactly what my strategy/thinking is on these things.
I totally see what you mean. I believe that you could easily make $2000 next month but I’m sure there are others that will not believe it as much.
Congrats on acheive $1,528.46 for the month of June. That is a pretty impressive number :p.
Wow Paul, the amazing growth continues! In light of this, I think blog coaching would be a great prize for a contest!
Hi Paul. It’s really great to see you are doing so well! You provide such a lot of excellent information for us. I visit to read every post
Paul, great stuff man.
My question for you is how much did you spend (if anything) to reach $1500? And did you have any follow up success with PPC included in June’s report?
@Elijah: The earnings for June do not include what I’m doing with PPC Affiliate marketing. That’s something I’m considering playing around with “on the side”. For that stuff I’ll have to keep a totally different spreadsheet, because you could technically make $10,000 in affiliate sales, but if your PPC costs are $12,000 you’re actually loosing two grand. The $1,500 in earnings didn’t include anything like that - meaning no PPC cost went into generating that income. My “cost” per month to run the Blog is below $100. Meaning for domain registration, hosting etc.
Hope that answers your question.
Your Blog Coaching is off the back of the credibility stored in you blog so I think you should include it. If you didn’t have your blog, its unlikely you’d have made a dime from the coaching.
Well done on your affiliate commissions. I’m looking into this at the moment.
Great stats keep up the good work
…. your rss count now shows 1265 readers… that is quite some impressive growth in only a few days (800 new readers) …..
@Mirjam: Yes, I was surprised too. Check out my latest article, I explain it.
Good stuff Paul, nice to see your blog is healthy and growing and a constant rate. You’ll be seeing me around a bit more, so theres another notch on your RSS chicklet
Some great info here!
I love it when people publish their exact earnings so we can all see what does and doesn’t work!
Very cool, Paul.
