Yaro Starak Video Teaches Conversion Blogging
One of my favorite Bloggers and a mentor of mine, Yaro Starak released an awesome video today talking about a concept he calls “Conversion Blogging”. Yaro’s following in the footsteps of John Reese and releasing some really good content video’s completely free of charge to build even more credibility in the marketplace as someone who over-delivers on value.
As some of you may know, I am a graduate of Yaro’s Blog Mastermind Mentorship Course. Without any hesitation I can definitely say that Yaro’s course has been instrumental in the success of my “Blogging Career”. I wrote a complete review of Yaro’s Blog Mastermind Course back in May of this year for anyone interested in exact details of what it’s all about.
The video that Yaro released today extends the concept of Blogging even further and I have to say that I definitely learned a lot from it myself even though I already went through Yaro’s program.
If you watch the video and you like what Yaro teaches, definitely make sure you check out the second video as well as I think you’ll get a lot of value from that. Yaro’s releasing these video’s in preparation for the re-opening of his Blog Mastermind course in the next few weeks.

It seems your blog is turning into JohnChow.com - Ads in RSS, multiple affiliate links etc. You have so much information to share that is quality so I see it as a huge shame you are watering down your brand like this.
If things ever change let me know and i’ll re-subscribe to the feed
Cheers

@Glen Allsopp: Of course I would have affiliate links on my Blog… that’s one of the ways a Blog can monetize itself so that eventually I can do this totally full time and provide you and everyone else with even more quality content.
More specifically to this post, Yaro’s program is awesome and so is the free video he put out. If it bothers you that I am not afraid to promote “the good stuff” on the Internet, sorry but that will never change on this Blog. I see it as my duty to share my opinion on products I’ve tried online which I feel may help people to Make Money Doing What They Love. How else are people supposed to know “What’s Good” and “What’s Crap” out there?
Sorry that it bothers you that Bloggers like myself, Yaro, and even John Chow are trying to make a living doing what they love. I notice you also run a Blog. I highly recommend you look into Yaro’s offering, and if it bothers you that I have affiliate links on parts of my site you can always just go to his website without clicking on my links. Don’t miss out on all the great, free, valuable information just because you don’t like the affiliate marketing model. Best of luck man!
To many ads can really ruin the fun of being a regular blog reader. Especially if you get the feeling that the products and sercives are not selected for their quality or subject related content.
I can’t really see this happening here, though. So far the infos I have found at Paul’s site where useful.
Even if from time to time an ad that was simply placed for the money would find its way on to this website I would understand that. Why not take take the money and use it to make this blog even better…
Chance of topic:
Has anyone here had any experience in video promoting a website. If so, please let me know how it worked for you.
I am currently doing some field research for a series of articles I started to write for my blog at http://www.philippknoll.com/blog
Having studied camera techniques at university I plan to give tips on how to get good results when recording a promotional video to share at platforms such as YouTube or to be published on your own website.
I would like to enclose the facts and figures I can come up with by your feedback into my next articles.
Hoping for your support,
Philipp Knoll

Paul, I have been a regular on your blog since before your revamped template, or pinnacle turning point in April and it does not bother me one bit that you advertise. This is the blogging and make money niche, and one of the main ways to “make money” is by advertising, 125×125’s, reviews, recommendations, and overall syndication of useful content and links to useful resources. If those links are of the affiliate nature, GOOD! I know for a fact you have posts up that must have taken at least an hour from start to publish. You deserve to be paid for that time - therefor you monetize. And if I may say so, your transition from “regular blogger” to monetized blogger was very painless for me - as a reader. I appreciate your writing and content even more now than I did when I first started stopping by here.
Comparing Paul to John Chow is like comparing an 18 year Scotch to a bottle of Vodka. Vodka can’t be aged therefor the content is always the same. An 18 year old bottle of Glen Livet Scotch has body, soul, and uniqueness due to the aging process - in so many words it grows as time passes. John Chow is great and all, but he plateaued quite some time ago. Paul is the man because he is sincere, open, and unique with what he writes.
I understand “where” your coming from Phil, but comparing Paul to JC was not cool. Two different people, and two different styles of blogging.
Just watched the video. Man, I’ve heard of Yaro since I quit my job back in January but I’ve never seen, heard, or followed him in any way. I just want to say that his video was great. Tons of good content, simple, to the point, and very informative.
Thanks for the link Paul.
@Elijah: Yeah, Yaro is great. I had the privilege of meeting him in person when he visited Vancouver a few months ago and while chatting with him for a while I totally got the impression he was a super nice guy who’s genuinely out to help people. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending his products, especially his Blog Mastermind program which I am a graduate of. He also has a tonne of good free content on his Blog.
@Elijah: Thanks dude, much appreciate your comment. I don’t give much merit to complaints about me “monetizing” my Blog with ads or affiliate links or whatever. Nor do I care if people think I’m only recommending a product because of affiliate links. The truth is that for every product I recommend I get dozens and dozens of email requests to promote other products that just don’t make the cut.
Some of them are even good products, but they just don’t relate enough to the “How to Make Money Doing What You Love” theme so I don’t Blog about them.
I don’t plan for the frequency of recommendations either. Sometimes there could be nothing valuable for months, and then I might recommend 5 products in 5 days because they’re good. If that annoys people, oh well, I never said my Blog isn’t going to annoy you. If that’s what it takes to teach people how to make money doing what they love, so be it.
In the (paraphrased) words of Steve Pavlina - “I’m not here to be popular, I’m here to help you grow.”
I actually take back what I said, and want you to please keep the original comment in place to show that people make mistakes, but I’m never afraid to change my mind.
I actually found your blog via StevePavlina.com so I should have been more wary, I’ve just finished reading this post: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/05/how-to-make-money-from-your-blog/
It’s changed my mindset for the better and I actually don’t mind you promoting what you want to promote or putting ads on the site. It can cause trust issues when people wonder whether you are just promoting something for the dollars but I should know better of you by now. I actually have the issue of how I can ethically make money from my website for the better as I’m at a bit of a loss on that without p*ssing off my readers.
Thanks for letting me add thsi comment here, and I hope I didn’t affect you negaitvely in anyway. I’ve subscribed to the feed (how not, your content offers so much value) and hope we can go past my original comment.
Cheers,
Glen
@Glen Allsopp: No worries Glen. It’s all part of the learning process. Helping people get past these “blocks” to make money doing what they love is why I started this Blog in the first place. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
